07/02/2011 OPEN LETTER TO THE DRAWING "Il Giornale del Lazio"

Dear Editor of "Il Giornale del Lazio", Ms gent.ma Iaci,

I have carefully read your article "Why is there no possibility to Aprilia of bumps rumble? Part a citizen petition " and is more than understandable exasperation of those citizens (I too have a child of that age). The theme is unfortunately common in many parts of the city and is a personal obsession: there is no meeting, inquiry or discussion in which road safety (and in particular for pedestrians) does not repeat with force. For this reason, the theme has been examined since the establishment of the Commission Public Works Board which I chair. From the beginning we talked about raised crosswalks and speed bumps speed bumps rather than because, by studies that have deepened with the local police, the former are regular and do not affect the way significant effect on the transit of vehicles normally used for emergency services or emergency. We took inspiration from a working draft prepared by the same local police a few years ago and never made operational by the old administration, to get the complete study of the local police station that discusses the types of activity, the materials used, the assumptions cost. During the final budget settlement we technically "open" a chapter of expenditure of € 20,000 which will be bolstered by a further 100,000 euro in the next budget, as is evident from the annual plan of public works considered by the Committee which I chair and which will be approved (no to preclude an amendment that raises the amount to be committed), together with the budget just in the month of March. The last meeting with the Commander of the Local Police, Councillor Fioratti and technicians to examine the study referred to above and starting with the design phase, dates back to 02/01/2011, as you know your co-worker, Ms Roberta Angeloni, who just before the meeting in question met myself in the chair of the board to illustrate precisely the problems of traffic and road safety Street Apriliana I again promptly reported to local police in that forum asking for a strengthening controls.
Clearly we can not do these actions anywhere, and often lengthy public service to give such answers seem frustrating, but it certainly will be watching for the next few months will be able to act primarily in situations that involve major risks to our safety and our children. I think, for example, in some arteries with high flow, extra-urban and urban areas, or near school buildings.
All of the above is documented in the minutes of the Committee, the departments in the cards and letters of official meetings, it was a duty towards all those citizens, and not just for Via Lazio, who in recent months have signaled danger. We have tried to disclose as much as possible the work that we consider essential for our city, but in the opinion of the writer, except for some short article, we have not received due consideration by the local media that these issues deserve. Often shouting to the scandal, including bias, you make headlines when something goes wrong, it reports the degradation, all this is legitimate, just, but when something is particularly welcome by the citizens would be equally good that the press will give the same prominence, beyond the "parishes". Because of those who pass as it is with our hands to get the facts of its own, while others complain, I do not think at all. Years I struggled against these methods and now that everything belongs to the past, we try to give answers that this city deserves, knowing that we have long way to go.
